Aka: Red Dream

Created 2010
Photoshop/Adobe [1989-2001]

Released 11th February 2012

Story behind the picture: I have always been fascinated by scrap yards. Battered cars stacked high in what look like graveyards for cars. Of the many cars stored in such fashion, some models are never present as their production numbers are low, and the vehicles precious. Some bizarreness happened. I got thinking back to some weeks earlier. Instead of thinking back to the event, without knowing it, I was thinking back to a dream that was loosely based on the event. The dream stayed pretty faithful to the actual event, except it add extra info, like a film having extra footage inserted. I had been on a train journey to Cambridge. The dream inserted a scrap yard complete with battered Ferrari. To this day I do not know if there is a scrap yard en route to Cambridge visible from a moving train.

‘Red Dream’ is best viewed simply as a idea, rather than an amazing work of pixels, as this kind of thing interests me more at the moment. I could have attempted to pixel a scrap yard. I wanted a digital / real looking image. Transferring a still taken from a dream, and turning it into pixels has proved difficult, as the still can’t quite be viewed.
