Splendid preview! I only wonder about controls - they're usually too complex in C64 games and using separate key for every action is gradually deprecated nowadays. Optimum would be joystick (and WSAD on keys) for movement, fire (and let's say Return) for action while game parses object in front of protagonist and performs proper action e.g. search in front of barrel, open in front of door etc. and Space for character window. I'm looking forward for another release ;)

Excellent preview, I think I will actually play a new game when it's released! Looking awesome so far, and yes a key config would be great so we can redefine all keys as I prefer wsad etc.

Looks really nice, esp. the main character. Agree that some of the background gfx are too bright. Rest is superb.
+ yes, ocean logo is fun!

@Paulko64 & Heavy Stylus - We changed to a more traditional top down view because of two reasons: west/east doors and windows weren't easy to visually implement in the old style and this map style is far easier to deal with in the code

@iLKke - Do you mean the brown (dirt) or gray (rocky)? We don't have many options for ground color and there isn't going to be one choice, we're using four different ones depending on the location of the maps. What would you suggest?

A genuinely original and exciting release! Great work :) but I agree with what iLKke and Paulko64 said about the new graphics (I too favoured the earlier stuff).

The Ocean logo is superb btw :)

Nice!
The ground texture is too bright though, so it competes with the important stuff.

Indeed very promising preview!
However, I have to admit I preferred the older slanted top-down view where both the front and top of walls can be seen.
Any particular reason for this change?

This really looks amazing, and the attention to detail in the art is quite impressive! I can't wait until I am playing the game...I hope the story is as compelling as the appearance. With this much time put into it, I am sure it will be. Can't wait!

This game looks really promising. the gfx are good and the presentation of stats is also quite well done. So are the commands. I do hope that there will be a nice well told story that drags you into the world. If so, i'll be there! Good work everyone, keep going!

Thanks for the kind words guys! We're already working on the next steps, picking away in the caves. ;)

@Lobogris - Yeah, we've already planned for joystick support for the game, just didn't implement in this preview

@The Dr.j - Yep, the logo is a "tip of the hat" to Ocean

That's great! Looking forward to see the final version. I'm definitely a big fan of all the top view crpg games and this one is a good candidate to sit with all the rest of my collection.

Great Preview! I love the graphics and the feeling of this game, it's like Ultima games but with the graphics we all dreamed that ones would have had. But please, Joystick for the final release, or redefine keys option, I don't like the movement keys (the others are fine to me). My best wishes for all the team ;)
