i add this because bitbreaker asked me why i would need a reference for boats...

-----

the story for using the reference for just the boats is more or less simple.
i have a painting on my walls, showing two boats.

i was seeking for an idea of what to make for the 2screen compo, and i was in a hurry because i started too late as always (just 6 days before the deadline).
so, i took a photo of that painting on the wall, and reduced the colors in photoshop to make a raw convert. not because i wanted to rework the whole picture as a scan, but to see how boats and a water-scenery would look on a c64.

to be honest i liked those 2 boats that much that i decided to just keep them and make my own creation, water, sky, seagulls, tree... whatever around them (plus the obvious retouching of the boats).

so to say, i could have drawn boats myself, but they would pretty much look the same as i liked what i had on my wall.

still i want to point out, that the whole picture is not just a reworked scan

reference is to be seen at vetos compopage
