WOW! Absolutely stunning idea. Plus it is very recognizable as a Wazek's work, it really screams "Wazek" when you look at it!

This is absolutelt stunning as ROM-font and even nice aside from that. But to me not at all THAT good as a general C64 font. I've seen much nicer and much less repetitive. PETSCII aside of course, which this compo is (was?) not about.
So very nice font, but certainly not unbeatable with 256 chars available.

Thanks for all the warm feedback :)
@Fungus: sure you can!
@dink: hell yeah, the first 3 parts are top notch in their genre, and I've been sampling boiler room speech in my music for years, since it is so damn powerful.
@Didi: I am much relieved that it's within the rules :)

Awesome font, can I use it after the compo is over?

I did not think of this possibility when setting up the rules. But it's no "derivate" of the ROM charset which would be an expanded or striped version of it. The charmap also fits into $0800, so I consider this valid. I fear this will become a PETSCII charset competition now. ;)

This is the best font so far. Would love to see this applied to a crack intro.

@USER: Didi will tell us/wackee what to do, in case of emergency, it shouldn't be hard to adapt this one to some COLRAM rule :)

@Ryk I've tried to argue the same way in the main compo post ...

Wow, fucking awesome PETSCII font!

Ah, c'mon, he did use colorRAM to hint at new word beginning or showing the idea he'd like to see that font used, he could as well have put a 1 or 2x8 space there and do without the "ARISE" :)

I think if any ColRAM rule is there, it rather applies for multi color charsets

This one is cool, i don't think it is against the rules to use the build in charset (or load one, which looks exactly like the needed parts, hehe). But if i understood the rules correct, it is forbidden to use different color RAM settings ?!

i had to upvote this because of the idea... combine this with a nice petscii logo and you have a kickass crack intro (and small!)

as for the rules... you can always just copy the rom char into your own, so how could it violate a rule? :)

9 for execution!
+0.5 for economy (use of CharROM)
+0.5 for the great idea/creativity
equals 10

Can't see any rule violated, even if use of ROM were forbidden, you could argue that you in some way stored a 2x8tiles Set in the Screen :)

2x8 font created using PETSCII/ROM chars.
Hope this entry does not violate any rules ;)
Enjoy!
