The game came from "P. S. Computers" in Hickory Hollow mall in Nashville. PS had a big projection monitor on the wall, and played videos of new arrival games, and if you asked, they'd load a game up on the in-store 64 and let you play it before you bought it. Being a small store like they were, they didn't often get a BUNCH of copies of a new game in, and they typically sold quickly. This posed a problem when you were trying to feature them on video, as you needed to record them being played on your VHS tape. This is where I came in. My best friend and I were in the store almost daily, and were enmeshed there. You see, the store would hold back a copy of anything new for me, and I would make them a "store copy" of the game so that they could both record it, and have a copy to let people play. (And I'd get a copy for myself for my troubles). So, they'd get a virgin working copy, and I'd take a copy home to crack. Well, to be more correct, my best friend would get a copy, take it to HIS house, and I would crack it there. Considering that I didn't own a computer at the time.
So this game got copied IN the store, put in the disk box, and one night (it was always night), when I was bored, I cracked it. Sector edited the title screen, and put it in the cracked box.
(For anyone interested, his house was 2425 Vale Lane, Nashville TN). | Production Info Submitted by FablousFurlough on 4 March 2020
This was probably not the FIRST crack of this game. It was just MY crack that I gave to a couple of friends in Nashville. |
