As can be seen, this demo is based on exactly one idea: heightmaps in character graphics (and which demo effects can be visualized with that)

Of course, what some people might be thinking, "what is real and what isn't?"

All backgrounds are directly pasted byte-by-byte (graphics & colors) each frame (didn't have time to do partial draw)

All other graphics are drawn via 2bit color & 2bit depth values.

The boing ball, vector city, 3D wave (at the end) and obviously the space invader are animations (compressed, 2 pixels in one byte), while the rest of the effects are (more or less) real.
