L.A.Style: "Here we go again with another Tool
which probably just 10 Persons may use
or just think about using.

To clear some things, i coded this for
my Personal use as i wanted to make
easy CMD Partition Backups.

Yes, i know that there exist some ways
to Backup a CMD Partition, but before
you may judge this tool i will list
them with their disadvantages before i
will say something about this Tool.

1) You can unmount the SCSI Drive from
your CMD-HD and Backup it really fast
with dd on a Linux System. That was the
pro, but i dont run a Linux System at
all and besides that i dont have an old
50 Pin SCSI Controller anymore. Besides
that, i dont wanna open my CMD-HD also.

2) Driveghost from Nicholas Coplin
works with Standart C64 but i dont have
a X1541 Cable nor a DosPC with 64HDD
installed and LTP Port available.

3) UIECMAN plugin for Geos might be
working nicely, but i havent ever
touched Geos and i wont even try just
for noticing that it wont work as i
want it to.

So as you are still reading this i
continue with some explantation.

As i dont want to re-invent the Wheel
i only support Native CMD Partition
Backup to a .DNP File which can be
mounted on sd2iec or Dirmaster on PC.
There exist way more powerful tools
than this one here to Backup emulated
CBM Partitions,so i dont support them.

The dump Filename will be the Name
of your CMD Partition automatically
The Functions or toggle Options are
almost self explaining so i dont want
to mention them in detail.

Make sure your target Device has
atleast 16,8 MB free, just in case
the Dump Partition has the maximum
Size.

Dumping Partitions has been tested
with CMDHarddrive with Compactflash mod
and FD 2000 , sd2iec / EF3usb as Target

The estimited Dump Times have been
calculated with a JiffyDos equipped
System on REAL HARDWARE !

Tests with original installed SCSI
Harddisk showed that transfer speed
on real Harddrives is around 20% slower
than CF, a SCSI2SD Hdd has been tested
aswell but the Speed was way Slower.
The displayed dumptime is the average
Time using a Compactflash 2 SCSI Mod.

If you are lucky owner of a EF3 you
can Dump your Partitions directly to PC

Start the included PC Client with
"ef3usb.exe p" then begin Dumping with
dump to USB enabled. The Tool will show
a Message to Start the PC Client anyway
so dont worry when you have to start it."
