New in this release:
* Optional error injection to simulate realistic delays.
* The X tag is more forcing, i.e. prevents all unnecessary loading.
* The $c10 utility routine leaves the CPU I flag alone.
* Disk ID can be specified.
The main new feature is stochastic error injection. You can tell the drivecode to corrupt the sector buffer with a certain probability, to simulate read/transfer errors. Then you can observe how that affects the timing of your trackmo. It gives a certain peace of mind to know that your trackmo will run without glitches even with, say, 10% load errors. What's more, this is a very convenient way of finding out where the bottlenecks are, and whether your demo is able to deal gracefully with missed sync points. |
