Thanks, Skate. It should always work. I tried to let it fail and it didn't, but it is good that other people test it too.
Oswald, that sounds like a good idea. Perhaps make a low resolution copy of the image and run this (or another) fill algorithm on that first, then fill the rest at higher resolution. Perhaps even go in steps from lowest to highest resolution. | User Comment Submitted by Oswald on 25 July 2018
interesting I'd try to implement this with char resolution and if fails (how to test for this?) then fall back to pixel reso. | User Comment Submitted by Skate on 25 July 2018
I tried it with various polygons inside a concave polygon scenerio and it worked perfectly. it's also quite fast (well, maybe not for a realtime demo effect ;)). congratulations, good job. | User Comment Submitted by Golara on 23 July 2018
I don't know what kind of algorithms are behind such things, never though of it, but it is quite fast. | User Comment Submitted by Adam on 22 July 2018
indeed, speed is quite decent. nice. | User Comment Submitted by Rastah Bar on 22 July 2018
I noticed that the fill routines in some Graphics&Text adventures are a bit sloppy or somewhat slow. I thought this is an interesting problem to work on. This release shows the method I figured out. Speed is decent, I think, but there are probably faster algorithms around. |
