One of my first games ever was Space Invaders that my brother and I played for days on the old Atari2600. The cover art of these games bring me back to that time.. more than 30 years ago. I thought the picture needed something more emotional - a paradox. So I decided to add an astronaut standing, overseeing the attack of the UFO and being all relaxed. I posed him as comfortable as possible so that the viewer doesn't expect any action from him. What would be normal in a situation like this. Well, I definitely would fight or run away.

It took quite some time to get the fabric of his suit right... I deliberately kept him as rough and abstract as possible to create a certain contrast between the foreground and background.

I spend one evening (4 hours) on the UFO and two evenings on the astronaut and another one to finalise it all together. So roughly it took me 16 hours of pixeling..
