Following public request my textfixed version is made available.

Batman - The Caped Crusader +1D

There is also a third party fixed version. That one is binary different than mine...

And putting out a fix is not recrack. That's like Didi making an NTSC fix of a game and I intro of ours. Recrack g is taking the crack work, removing the intro and claiming you did it.

iAN: still feels awkward to me (personal opinion). If it's not a recrack, then how to call it? And yet, the menu is still technically wrong as Penguin is part 1, Joker is part 2. The entries should be relisted in correct order in the menu, not just rerouted to load at a different pointer. Sorry for that :)

Chrom_: it's not a recrack, everything from FLT is there, only the menu appears to be fixed to load the proper parts and a typo fix.

Recracking this release feels a little unethical on the Unknown Patcher's side, but we all know how these things work. Bacchus should have just fixed and released it fast himself, regardless of the rants. Now the best move is to release a fixed and improved version, isn't it?

No matter what you do, there will be someone that will not like it. The bigger the crowd, the greater the chance of that. Once you realise that, you can just ignore that kind of opinions and see what the majority thinks: a great release. Keep them coming!
Edit: I have never voted on releases, but gave this a 10, co counter that 4 a bit :)

Looks like the The Unknown Patcher fixed this release up, grab it here -> Batman - The Caped Crusader +1D

Groepaz, seriously? Batman The Caped Crusader is such a great game. Give it a go, it has brilliant comics-like graphics and animations, amazing music, nice atmosphere and quite balanced gameplay. Personally it's in my top 20 without a doubt (and the original has even a poster included)

Well I am confused what CSDB is mainly as CSDB itself it confused what it is ... Sometimes it has scene opinions and sometimes it's not part of the scene.

And uploads here will only happen if anyone entrusted with a fixed version upload it. So as long as a version is in a trusted domain, it might not end up here. And if downvoters base their vote on minor text errors that they might as well just sod off - and never see the fix ...

nice work on this one, Bacchus. Some guys don't want to see the best version but a bugged version, then they can come out of their lonesome caves and piss all over the hard work. Do the stuff for yourself, some mistakes happen, that's the purpose of mistakes :D Don't let you down on get angry about csdb votes... they are just there for ragging :D

Come on guys, don't tell me that we're going to start a hate thread or a flame. We're all over 40 in here and the purpose of the whole scene to exist is to share, celebrate and enjoy in a peaceful manner. Bacchus release is no doubt a good one and now I'm almost sorry I have highlighted the issue in the first place. Let's just have a fixed version and everyone be happy please, or it will seriously turn into something ridiculous

People might have voted low after the goof mentioned, and might vote higher when that goof is fixed? Who knows? Just get the release fixed, add some more trainers, perhaps (there are +4 versions out there) and you have your jewel.

You are still confused of what CSDb is. If you give a crack to someone but don't upload it personally here, that someone can and will upload it here anywyay. It's not your personal showcase of your warez. You don't decide what's in here and what not. If a release exists, it can be added by anyone.

@Chrom - I can make it and send to you. Given that the CSDB principle is to store all silly versions I'm keen not to have a patch public.

@ian - I don't - but if someone people find it enjoying to say fuck you in my face by giving a 4 vote, then that takes a bit of the fun go away. Do you see anything making it worth a 4?

Bacchus: you're REALLY making C64 cracks to obtain votes on CSDb? Well, you're doing it wrong then.

Yes Bacchus you're right, but you still have a very nice 9.3 average score at the moment, and the release is really good indeed. Just cut it short, fix the errors in the loader and make of this the best Batman release ever :)

It is normal to face some random (even sometimes unjustified) critics when you publish something online. My suggestion is to just take it as a push to prove your point in front of everyone fixing an already good release

Indeed - the options screen has flipped the penguin and joker levels. Well if we are on the level of typo in the loader giving a five (and I know this was anonymous) this is really no fun anymore. People downvoting something I worked several week on. I thing the five voter should be ashamed of the lamness to not stand for the vote cast.

one more typo: "Pengiun" in the selector :)
hey Bacchus, congrats for the XXX anniversary!!

Just in case: the low vote is not from me at all. I think this release is a very good one. There's no crack around that has the loading screen, parts selection menu, trainer and docs all together. Once you fix the little typo in the loader this will be the best release for this game available (at least to my knowledge)

And an anonymous vote of 5. Wonder what that person was expecting :(

@hedning, and there's also a typo in my nick on your comment :)

Chrome: That should be added in the "goofs" section. :)

Very nice release, but the loader is bugged. Joker and penguin parts are swapped (try loading any penguin entry and the joker is loaded and vice versa). Any chance to get a fixed version please? You just need to invert joker and penguin labels in the loader menu

Zzarko - I guess it can be patched to do that but there is of course no setting that will enable that...

Nice, thanks! This one needs replaying!

I have always wanted to ask something about this game: is it possible to not restart music from beginning after status screen/item pick-up? It annoyed me back in the days, and I must say it annoys me now :)
