Dr.J: different people, different opinions. Get used to it, it's his right to express his opinion on a release as much as you are, and he did it in a civil way so I don't see any problem here.

@Oswald: is it so hard to compliment and to appreciate the hard work of oziphantom for us? you know this is 2019 and there really little rare good releases coming to our beloved c64. i just can't get it .

sorry guys, but not my cup of tea, all the charm from the original is gone somehow.

Nice game, but much harder. I liked the first one. This one is more challenging. Good cover tunes as well. :)

Respect Oziphantom! Frantic Freddie is one of my games from my youth. I love when someone is doing new version of an old game. Your version is cool, I love interludes! Also the graphics and music is great! Fantastic release.

Well done! I have fond memories of trying to reach the next interlude in the original.

This started as
New graphics, new levels
which I was thinking 2 weeks and done
Then came the bug fixes. Which I originally did as bin patches
Then came more fixes, then wanted new music, and it got to the point where I decided I needed to get the code building so I could rearrange it all.
Then the "0 interludes" became 8, hiscore save..
but yeah its more FF 1.5 gameplay wise, it runs the 1.0 engine, just I made it loop properly, made the towers easier to get onto, make it so you couldn't climb a tower at the edge of the screen and walk of the screen. Few other bug fixes, new points of bonuses I think. Its an in-place upgrade rather than an all new game.

Analyzing the code, it seems that the majority of the changes from the original game lies in the music. Then minor changes in the game code, + gfx changes of course. Is that correct?

are we sure this is to be credited to NM156
and not nm156 instead? They are 2 different people, and I believe Neil Higgins is not really active these days.

@jammer I actually made them more forgiving than the original, but due to how it works, there is only so much I can do.

I love FF for the music, improved with metal & hard rock power (NM156), great pic from Hend and smooth code by Oziphantom. Perfect 10/10!

Immensely funny but controls could be much more forgiving (pixel perfect ladders are hell!) and monsters' moving pattern is unfair at times ;) Cool Queen cover! :D

Love the Music by NM156 on this.
To hear it at it's best then please note there are 3 versions for the various SID revisions:

6581 standard/ emulator version..
If this sounds muffled on your physical C64 use the 4485 version.

If it sounds unfiltered on your physical C64 use the 8580 version.

Physical 8580 use just the 8580 version
