Summary
Submitted by Radd Maxx on 2 May 2019
This purpose of this program is to convert text files either from 7-bit ASCII to Pet-ASCII, or the reverse. The program uses one or two disk drives.

This particular version of the program was put together for the conversion of 'C' source files. The six 'special' characters not found on the Commodore 64 keyboard will be converted to character values compatible with the C-Power editor from Proline. These characters and their equivalents are...

Character ASCII Petscii
--------- ----- -------

Left Curly Brace 123 219
Right Curly Brace 125 221
Backslash 92 92
Tilde 126 175
Underscore 95 164
Vertical Bar 124 223

Since the conversions are table driven, it should be possible to customize the object program without too much effort. The Petscii to ASCII table is 256 bytes in length, and begins at $0ECD. The ASCII to Petscii is 128 bytes long and begins at location $0FCD.
