Believed so :)

I've written about 'realism' with petscii here and there. It's not in the 'core' of character based graphics indeed but merely the artist making must follow visual observations - what works and what does not. Basicly it's just trying out characters and finding something that might look like it's 'true'.

Mostly I recommend people who try out petscii to create something more 'blocky' or find out the 'natural' visual language of petscii.

There's an old article in Widerscreen that prolly explains a bit more: http://widerscreen.fi/numerot/2017-1-2/unplanned-blocky-puzzles..

Electric, I KNOW it's not converted. A try at humour. A failed one, it seems.

This was no big effort as the motive is so simple and 'big'. Done at the partyplace to get something in the compo. Three hours work with a reference image of high contrast face. Anyway, way better than most of the pieces I've used 20 hours with… which tells sometimes it's good to be more spontaneous.

@flotsam - find me a PETSCII converter that can produce something recognizable (besides lineart) and I'll buy you a beer. Before that I recommend you to comment on subjects you know about.

Perfect. Wouldn't know which tile to do differently.

@Flotsam: Though there are tools for wiring PETSCII, from my experience they ain't worth the troube unless you only go for sillhouettes to have an easier start. And someone with Electric's skills is beyond any suspicion.

Makes me uneasy to think of the amount of work this must have been. Unless of course it's some ingenious algorithm that did this. It must be.

Makes me feel really uneasy. Provokes emotions in magnitudes higher than average C64 graphics do. Awesome!
