I don't think that's a linking mistake, the original game does lda/ora/sta $d011.
The same thing happens in this release but with $d016 instead: Doc Cosmos +D

Bugfixed version here: The Curse of Rabenstein +D
Sorry for the linking mistake which lead to some pixels being cut of on top and bottom of the screen in the main adventure part of this release due to wrong $d011 value.
