Out of curiosity, how many attempts will using this program take to cause saving/recording a proper executable signal data combination? ;-)

@Beastfire: that depends.. if it was overwritten intentionally or not. If random data are written at least 2 times over valid data on a magnetic medium then there are very few chances.

I wonder if it's possible to retrieve overwritten disk files from C64 disks with special hardware. Perhaps we need something like DBAN to overwrite files a lot?

Yeah ok.. you can mock me :D This program is a part of a study I am doing on the actual speed of the interface (which seems limited only by the cpu).
Anyway to write white noise that fast was not easy.. if you try you always get some clicks and sounds here and there... I had to use a trick.
If you run it in the emulator and create a TAP file and then convert the tap file in WAV you get white noise.
I tested it also on a real C64 and C2N. Same result.

Better safe than sorry. Probably best to run this 10x times, just to make really sure.

This program writes white noise on a tape using a standard C2N. Tested on real hardware. Enter LIST command for instructions.
