Really really good. 10/10
If i wanted to be hyper picky, then i might mention the starfield looking a little off in places. No doubt because of how it was achieved. It might look better with no starfield. | User Comment Submitted by Yogibear on 19 February 2021 User Comment Submitted by Raistlin on 21 January 2021
My god, Mirage! You are a total powerhouse.
This game.. is stunning. I keep coming back to it to play more - I totally love it.
Stunning how you've done the logo, too.
The coding here is top-notch demo stuff - and it's a fantastic game at the same time.
Please do Pacland or Pitfall if we do this compo (or similar) again :-) (but, please, not in the Borders Only compo ...) | User Comment Submitted by Unicorn on 16 January 2021
Amazing piece of sprites. Great job! | User Comment Submitted by Magic on 13 January 2021
Quality! Now I need the arcade cabinet in my mancave :) | User Comment Submitted by Bob on 9 January 2021
The Booze is strong this time of year ;) | User Comment Submitted by xlar54 on 5 January 2021 User Comment Submitted by Boogaloo on 5 January 2021
OMG. This is so awesome! The 1978 mode took me back to my childhood, playing on the original arcade machine. Lovely! | User Comment Submitted by GeirS on 4 January 2021
@DeeKay: My 4KB game "Sub Destroyer" (created for the "2004 MiniGame Compo") is also sprites-only and uses the sideborders. Of course, it pales in comparison with this game. "Sprite Invaders" is very, very impressive! | User Comment Submitted by Count Zero on 4 January 2021
Very cool - gfx, sound and original game mechanics. Just that you sometimes cannot fully penetrate the barriers at some places is irritating. | User Comment Submitted by Max on 4 January 2021
Clever use of Borders, love it ;) | User Comment Submitted by chancer on 4 January 2021
good stuff, chucked a spanner in the works for the others also.. hopefully they'll take it as a challenge ;-) | User Comment Submitted by Krill on 4 January 2021
Impressive working around the limitations. Especially the title screen. | User Comment Submitted by DeeKay on 4 January 2021
Wow. That's just mental, an all border game! ;-) Only Peiselulli's Jar's Revenge has ever done that AFAIK. We were wondering about games that use sideborder the other day, and that's the only one we could come up with, any other candidates? ;-) | User Comment Submitted by psych on 3 January 2021 User Comment Submitted by Bob on 3 January 2021
Wow all border! I only saw Horizon tried to make a sideborder game back in the days. This is really great! time to play space invaders! | User Comment Submitted by Morpheus on 3 January 2021
Raistlin must be happy now that he doesn't have to spend that much money on stamps. Lars, superb work as always! A straight ten. | User Comment Submitted by KAL_123 on 3 January 2021
Just in this moment i thought, how cool a 2-player-simultan playing-mode for this game would be! | User Comment Submitted by jim_64 on 3 January 2021
Love the "cellophane emulation" in the 1978 version! | User Comment Submitted by DKT on 3 January 2021 User Comment Submitted by Honcho on 3 January 2021
Brilliant! Apart from an amazing game, really like the SPRITE INVADERS logo, so well done :) | User Comment Submitted by iAN CooG on 3 January 2021
Mace: nah, there's always the New Game + option, restart with the same ending stats but with harder enemies. | User Comment Submitted by Mace on 3 January 2021
Okay, we're done, we can pack and leave.
Mirage just completed the last level of C64.
It's all finished now. | User Comment Submitted by Richard on 3 January 2021
This well and truly a masterpiece. I think this entry will do extremely well in the sprites only compo. - Plus I love Space Invaders ... Well done ;) | User Comment Submitted by Joe on 3 January 2021
Excellent work! Only Sprites? WTF :D | User Comment Submitted by Dr.Science on 3 January 2021 User Comment Submitted by HCL on 3 January 2021
Truly impressing that you can actually make an all-border game with like zero rastertime for gameplay logics and music/sounds..
Then that title screen really rocks your socks off!! | User Comment Submitted by Oswald on 3 January 2021
fantastic, both the title screen and the game is a technical marvel. | User Comment Submitted by Metal Maniac on 3 January 2021
Wow, just wow. And RIP old friend Matrix, great tune! | User Comment Submitted by Soya on 3 January 2021
This is one of the most impressive things i have ever seen! | User Comment Submitted by Slaxx on 3 January 2021

Awesome idea and well executed. | User Comment Submitted by GH on 2 January 2021 User Comment Submitted by celticdesign on 2 January 2021
wtsf (what the sprite fuck!)! how?! | User Comment Submitted by KAL_123 on 2 January 2021
In the title-picture, by steering left and right one after the other, the colors can be switched to the typical green/black of the old "Space Invaders" version. For going back to the other colors, steer up and then down. | User Comment Submitted by 饾榿饾棥饾棜 on 2 January 2021
Awesome title and fun :D I really loved the old versions of this game and this one is just splendid. | User Comment Submitted by Copyfault on 2 January 2021
Now someone has to explain me how those extra sprites can be enabled ;)
Outstanding! | User Comment Submitted by Yazoo on 2 January 2021 User Comment Submitted by KAL_123 on 2 January 2021

What a great borderless game! Lovely work.
and you used my favourite sid tune from Matrix (R.I.P) Even better! | User Comment Submitted by Fungus on 2 January 2021
Bravo, I didn't expect this to be possible on PAL at all, only NTSC and DREAN. | User Comment Submitted by Shine on 2 January 2021 User Comment Submitted by Tom-Cat on 2 January 2021
Freaky :D We tought we would see only intros and Mirage comes along with this. Whoever voted 8 for this should be shot :D | User Comment Submitted by Mikael on 2 January 2021
Geez what a great feeling! Cool work here Mirage, love it! | User Comment Submitted by Jammer on 2 January 2021 User Comment Submitted by MCM on 2 January 2021
