Oswald: it's intentionally confused / dissonant because it has smuggled emotional manipulation techniques with a time machine from 2000's indie games :) In a storyline, it would be probably be a "buried alive" moment with the gameworld all out of power around you. Thinking about it, a full Metroid-like game in PETSCII could be good, though obviously a lot of work.

Superb entry ... and yeah, it screams for a Synthwave remix indeed.

Oswald: Dissonant? O_o

ace in the beginning but doesnt evolves into whats promised, harmonies are dissonant towards the end.

Who will be the first to do a synthwave remix of this? 3... 2... 1... This tune would have fitted Raid Over Moscow really well.

the arrangement's relatively empty compared to some other entries, but only because the composer chose exactly the right notes. goes straight to the heart.

Crystal clear, regular wave restart lowers a bit my suspension of disbelief but I totally love Konami vibes and that sound after 0:40 <3

I just love it, totally feels like a megacool tune of an old game from back then that you would have heard in a million of those koala-pic+Scroller Demos

The beginning is a tribute to the tune in Axiom Verge when you start the game. Which already was tributed in Steel Ranger :) Then there are also bits of R-Type in there.

Catchy but still pretty dark. If only '80s had more of this (y)
