This time, the sprite priority was chosen to be below the bitmap, effectively creating a mid-layer, since the sprites are displayed above every 0-pixel of the bitmap but below the 1-pixels. This decreased the flickering remarkably, for the price of complicating the actual pixeling process. Endless Pebibytes of email traffic were needed to get this in good shape.
