Thank you for all the comments! :) This was a fantastic race getting this done and finished in something like two months.

What started as an idea Trap had it kind of grew to something much bigger adding stuff all the time. For an example it was never meant to have it running in full screen, or changing to a scorched planet, or having huge sprite ships arriving, or having the music change as it does. But as we pushed each other it got bigger and bigger and Trap never said no. Well, initially he kind of did but after having a think about it he always changed his mind and said "lets go! I can shuffle things around that will give us a bit more memory". This whole demo is a one part so no loading from disk when it has started.
I think we was close to having zero bytes free when all was done.
Making this demo was like modelling in clay. Moulding and changing things, adding, removing, all for making something we would be proud of.

I really loved working with Trap and Jammer on this. We all gave all we had!

As a final note, a big f**k you to those who gave it 5s and 6s anonymously in the voting. Thanks! Really nice when we gave so much from ourselves thinking about this demo 24hrs a day for a long time.

And as a final, final note to end this in a happier tone, C64 is eternal! :)

Beautiful take and reinvention of this classic demo! The mood is still here, just enhanced to a completely contemporary level. Great graphics, music and code!

I'm ashamed to admin that i did not know the original. But the updated version is what i love. Guys, absolutely top rendition of the "c64 music video" genre that we're trying to execute too as ESM+WD.
How about making one more for Xenium Party, Trap/Sarge/Jammer? We'll be there with ours. Don't make us fell lonely :)

Absolutely fantastic! I got a nostalgic tear to my eye, and I hadn't even heard of any Trap demo until maybe a year ago. :D
Skillfully made, smooth and funny. And (not taking anything away from the rest of the soundtrack, which is 11/10 as well) that rendition of you-know-what tune in the end is mind-bogglingly brilliant.

Thank you for your kind words. I have now replaced the file with the official one that contains both 6581 and 8580 versions, as well as Sarge's movie-poster - so you can print your own if you want one :)

I had never watched the original Trap demo till the end. And oh my god this is such a good tribute! I have enjoyed every second of it (both the original as of this tribute).

A worthy tribute to the original. Beautifully updated graphics, great animation (the drummer is so world weary!) and sound design. Such a shame Benn never got to see it.

I missed the Dr. Strangelove reference when I was watching it in the stream last night - nice touch!

That whistle in the final tune is impressive.
