Started coding this one at 18:27 my time on July 16th, took some time out for dinner and some sleep, got up after a few hours, finished the initial effect preview in Python at 05:00 on the 17th, displaying finalised animation on c64 by 06:00 and went back to bed, edited the audio samples in the afternoon at the drycleaners, finished compressing the samples by 19:00, took a break for dinner etc, finished the code and checked in the final candidate at 00:03 on the 18th, uploaded ten minutes or so later. It was still the 17th in CET, hence the release date.

All up, just over 29.5 hours including a couple of breaks for meals, sleep, housework, socialising, exercise :)

The 9.4 second "tune" is titled "Looped 2 Death" - it uses four samples from the Matrix theme, "Clubbed to Death."
