From my point of view they ironed out a few disadvantages from the initial version. Plays more fluid now IMO.

Just so others dont have to look for things and can decide on normal or "special edition" version right away:
"The classic release SOULLESS from 2012 has been specially revamped for the C64 and is BACK in 2021! This version of the game features various improvements over the original including controllable mid-air jumping, easier to read spirit stone symbols, improved respawn points + more!"
