I'm really curious where in the practical world does all the sorting algos. they thought me in the C++ university course get used? Like I have never seen or used them anywhere else during 20 years of programming except when I was forced to write code with pen and paper for that exam!

@Jammer it kind of does, depending on how you look at it. The sound only changes when position of two elements are being swapped, i.e. when element with lower value goes to lower position, and element with higher value goes to higher position.

When a need to swap element locations is being identified, the value of the smaller element is played (i.e. set as FREHI of ch2). Then after the swap, the value of the bigger element is played. Over time, the frequency of updating sid lessens, as need to swap element locations lessens.

I tried a few other options for the sound too, but in my ears this produced the most satisfying results (and didn't take many bytes).

Sound doesn't exactly represent what happens but I love it nonetheless! <3

@Flotsam I'm sure LFT would be able to fit as large penises as he'd want, and a tune which would coincidentally be one of the best tunes made on C64. With me, you have to be satisfied with pixels (which you could think of micropenises if you really squint) accompanied with some annoying noises.

This would be perfect if it was penises that are sorted in order of length, but I realize that fitting penises in 256 bytes (even small ones) is something only Lft could possibly do - maybe not even him. Well done, Frostbyte!
