I asked HCL again about the release year, and he is sure that both demos were made in 1988/89; however, he is not sure when they were _released_, as the group had no swapper - so it is indeed possible that part 2 was released earlier than part 1 (which had at least some texts re-written).

seem that afterall it was a legit tune by Karl XII from Groovy Music V1.1

The demo is from 1990. In the note scroller it says "Balgoo signing off '90". Parts were just coded in 1989, but not released.

The song is indeed a Layla mix, and if I remember correctly I "borrowed" it from a Science 451 or Horizon demo. Will have a look and see what I can find.

part 2 seems just a reworked /MUSICIANS/0-9/20CC/van_Santen_Edwin/Layla_Mix.sid with different player.
Went thru past mails and it was already submitted and refused /DEMOS/UNKNOWN/Exod_part_2.sid =)

Magicans was a Swedish group in the end of the 80's - beginning of the 90's. And lookie lookie.. it's my sign on the logo!! I think the intro-logo is my first logo ever.
