Already tried another flash-card, so this can not be the problem. Then it really seems to be the case, that Saufzucht needs a DTV3, to run completely through, without an error. Okay, weiss ich Bescheid. But cool tool definately. | User Comment Submitted by Peiselulli on 7 January 2023
The difference between DTV2 and DTV3 is a blitter bug, and the blitter is not used by the loader. So the loader cannot be the problem IMHO.
Sorry, I have no DTV2 here. Maybe the demo crashes on DTV2. These parts you mentioned are not coded by me, so don't ask further questions to me.
But please test another flash card, maybe the copy is simply bad ? | User Comment Submitted by KAL_123 on 7 January 2023
Indeed, my DTV is a DTV2. A moment ago, i tested it with your linked tool. Is the problem with "Saufzucht" in the fact, that some effects of this demo, necessarily requires a DTV3 to run correctly? Or is only this loader-tool here, optimized for the DTV3 so far and it could probably also run this demo correctly on a DTV2, when updated to SJDTVLOAD V1.1 for example?
Cool that something like this is even possible, to be able, to run such large onefilers at a DTV. Just a little bit unfortunate for me, that my favorite DTV demo-effect, this great looking tunnel effect in Saufzucht, doesn't run on my DVT2. | User Comment Submitted by Peiselulli on 7 January 2023 User Comment Submitted by Peiselulli on 7 January 2023
Maybe you have "only" a DTV2, instead of a DTV3 ? I don't remember if we tested it on Revision 2.
Prince of Persia can theoretically work, but I think it is easier for Mr Sid, because he know the source code better. | User Comment Submitted by KAL_123 on 7 January 2023
And i asked myself, seconds ago, if this loader-tool here, could also be a solution for having the C64-game "Prince of Persia" in a special DTV-version, for example. Technically possible? Diskversions of this cool crt-game are not possible, as we know, but maybe a version, that uses the memory of the DTV, to quickly provide data for the game (how the cartridge does)? Could this work? | User Comment Submitted by KAL_123 on 7 January 2023
Wow, this is superb. Since a long time, i wanted to try out these mentioned three demos on my modded SD2IEC and now this really work. Take my 10 as a rating!!! And i tried it out already, some minutes ago. While "Misery 3" and "Anbieren" runs completely through on my SD2IEC, without any problem, i have one in the "Saufzucht" demo. Not sure, if my modded SD2IEC can be the problem here, or if there is some kind of a bug, in the onefiler of this demo or in this new loader-tool?
It runs normally at the beginning, until about the middle, where this effect with the puzzle-tiles is visible. Then the problems first start with a graphic-error, but the next part could still be loaded and starts, but then, before the tunnel-effect, the screen freezes and the demo hangs. Tried it three times, always the same. Have other users already tried Saufzucht on their SD2IEC and has it worked? Informations would be good to have, then i would know, if my modded DTV could be the problem (already possible, cause much was added to it), or if not? | User Comment Submitted by Peiselulli on 6 January 2023
Tool to load "Misery 3", "saufzucht" and "Anbieren" for DTV from SD2IEC device.
Base on SJLoad.
See "production notes" for details. |
