Introducing OpenSprite, an Open Source Sprite editor built in QT and available for various platforms. In this release, we provide the Windows version, while Linux and Mac builds can be compiled from the source available on OpenSprite's git page.

OpenSprite supports X and Y-expanded sprites, as well as overlayed sprites where two sprites are stacked, with the upper one in hires mode, providing designers with 4 additional colors, along with a transparent color, to create their sprites. Conveniently, colors can be swiftly selected using keys 0..5.

To streamline the editing process, most functions in OpenSprite are accessible through both buttons and shortcuts, enabling quick and efficient sprite editing. Additionally, we've incorporated a user-friendly animations editor, allowing you to view and edit sprites seamlessly while previewing the animation. We've also implemented a quick save and export feature, accessible via an icon button or a shortcut, ensuring a smooth workflow throughout your sprite creation process. Try out OpenSprite now!
