This disk release of Ewe Woz ‘Ere DX came about from experimenting with the brilliant Sparkle 3 from Sparta/OMG. The game was originally written around a cartridge release, pulling in data whenever it needed it, and Sparkle allowed me to port it to disk relatively quickly with only a few bits needing to be changed (mostly memory map related). Being an extremely fast loader helps a lot, too.

The following changes have been made to the game since the last major release:

- If using the built-in cheat mode, the game no longer saves your high score when completing the game.
- Added f7 as a level skip to the built-in cheat mode.
- Fixed a bug in the tutorial where the sheep would spawn over a hole in the ground and fall forever if it was started immediately after playing a game in nightmare mode.
- Made a few tweaks to the level data to make the first few levels easier and to increase the chances of weapons and time bonuses being dropped.
- Made the final level easier.
- Replaced one of the weaker laser sound effects.
- Adjusted the player explosion.

The testers listed in-game tested the original cartridge release; any new goofs in the disk release are on me. My testing was mostly done by writing the image to a floppy and loading it from a 1541 drive, so that is my recommended method, but it should work with any properly 1541-compatible device.

For the people who read all the production notes, the built-in cheat mode is accessed by going to the first page of the credits and moving the joystick up, down, up, down, left, left, right, right. The logo should go red, and infinite lives and the level skip will be enabled.

Updated cartridge images are available on our itch.io page.
