| I m waiting a Vice release with correct reading of registers DC00 and DC01 for joystick. Top-down contemporary pressure is currently not mapped as well as left-right. |

| @jab thanks. didn't work for me, as I kept being stuck in the "choose file" loop, but got me on the right path. I updated the target folder settings directly in registry, now it's working again. (had already deleted the 3.7. folder) |

@The Syndrom: I'm using Win10, so no Win11 experience here yet... but seems that Windows allows changing the file association to a new Vice version only by deleting the old version's binary (or e.g. just renaming its directory temporarily).
As a workaround I've ended up making a symbolic link to my current vice version directory (mklink /d c:\tools\vice c:\tools\GTK3VICE-3.8-win64-r45356) and then registering the file association through that link. When upgrading I only recreate the link. Pretty similar to the .bat workaround on that thread. |
