Cool! Good thing there are no grey dots in the U64 implementation though. ;) | User Comment Submitted by iAN CooG on 3 July 2024 User Comment Submitted by Retroluzzer on 3 July 2024
Can't get this running on U64 V1.43 - 3.11 :( | User Comment Submitted by chatGPZ on 2 July 2024
Platform is "Ultimate64 v1.41 - 3.10a" (and i wouldn't be surprised at all if future updates break it) | User Comment Submitted by Joe on 2 July 2024
Cool! What is this platform called? When I saw the cat transition I was actually thinking about sprites and chars and that it could do it down the real machine. Why do you guys stay on C64 add-ons and not Amiga/ PC instead, if you want to do more than the regular stuff. But it's interesting, just hard for people not having the tools, hardware, add-ons etc. Maybe best stay on real C64-stuff on a c64-stuffed channel? | User Comment Submitted by chatGPZ on 2 July 2024
I fail to see how this is a C64 Demo. It is not even a border case.
It also seems like the U64 implements a complete phantasy VICII in 48MHz mode - because with just a CPU turbo this kind of thing would not still not work. That makes this even less of a C64 demo. | User Comment Submitted by Higgie on 2 July 2024
What Jammer said! If I would watch it as a c64 demo it would suck hard. :-/ | User Comment Submitted by Scorpy on 2 July 2024 User Comment Submitted by Jammer on 2 July 2024
Is it technically a C64 release? It can run on stock hardware but it doesn't work properly so kinda borderline case. | User Comment Submitted by icon on 2 July 2024 User Comment Submitted by iAN CooG on 2 July 2024
At least the tune is good | User Comment Submitted by Scorpy on 2 July 2024
8 kb intro for Ultimate64, 48MHz turbo mode. There are two versions: with or without the info screen. (Without info screen it's below 8 kByte)
All effects use the raster-split technique. Changing the background color register at 48MHz results in an image element with a width of exactly 1 pixel. With this technique, a 394x288 image can be produced. Unfortunately, 8 double-width columns are also created, but they are not noticeable.
