Just when I thought Censor Design couldn't possibly get any better, here they are back again with yet another kick ass production that somehow manages to push the bar, that they themselves has set sky high in the past, even further upwards so far into the stratosphere that it leaves the rest of us dirt crawlers down here screaming in awe and wonder. Can someone please bring me the stargazer binoculars so I can see where it went?

This is my favorite from the compo, because of the consistency, the little details (like coloring of the sideborders in the first picture) and amazing pixels from Talent (i don't care how he does it, but please tell me how!). It looks like Censor managed to push a bit more colors in the colorcycling parts then ever (is that real or is it my imagination?).

It doesn't hurt that Clubbed to Death is on my favorite playlist aswell. And it's nice to see more 1 sided demo's. I think they hit the sweet spot.

I really like the geometric patterns!

What Trident said. Talent's pixels are top notch alone, not mentioning the animations which make it shine even more.

this was so great to see live at the party. we started hearing the rumors about a seriously massive censor demo a few weeks ahead of the event, which really built expectations for the compo. and seeing magnar disappear for a few hours during the party to finalize the music definitely increased the excitement. finally, hearing bob say "dammit it crashed!" after testing the demo on the compo machine way too close for comfort to the deadline made the tension palpable. what a rush!

as expected, the demo was massive. talents pixels always own the screen. dramatic music by magnar. my personal faves from the demo:

* the full-border sprite helices, with it's full vsp and cleverly hidden inescapable timing challenge, complete with a d016 wobble and additional sprites in the upper and lower border.
* the full screen color cycling parts with sprites on top (and in the bottom border) where *everything* is moving and is so colorful
* the ice cream machine thingy, where the colors so magically change - when you freeze the picture, you can see how the color changes are done, but when everything is moving they look impossibly smooth

love it!

yeah we also discussed it feels out of place, I've put a 4 sprite wide layer on it to have gfx beside and make it more connected, but then the fps dropped :)

all other screens in the demo is high color high res and high fps, and the tunnel is not.

Very nice to see this at Mysdata!

My thoughts.
The face and the small balls (like DNA strings) part is awesome and everything here is very beautiful. I like this part a lot. Also here I think Talent has managed to adapt his style a bit making it work on the C64 with a great result. In the past Ive always thought it was too dithered.
The geometric shapes part by Krikkit is also a favorite for me.

Music is great!

Tunnel sequence feels very disconnected as Wacek said.
The story is a bit hard to follow. It ends very abruptly and also when the samples plays the rest stops and it breaks the flow of the demo. I would have skipped the samples as they felt glued on.

But all in all, great work! Looking forward seeing your next big thing!

Very nice demo, with Oswald's tunnel (I assume) painfully out of place here from the design perspective, even more with those coder colors. Sorry, just being honest.

Ahh, great stuff! Talent’s art shines throughout - but the code and music is equally great. Massive team effort here, it’s kinda scary that so many can so easily be pulled together for these productions.

Some very neat - and classic Censor - parts throughout. A little bit of glitching between parts (where the transitions would be in an X-class demo) but we don’t always have to polish demos into marbles.

Brilliant stuff. Probably my #1 from the compo just for some of the new code on show here. Great to see Talent back again too.
