Summary
Submitted by hedning on 22 December 2024
Crack details:
- Majority of separate files on the disk one-filed. The only files that had to be left out were the image
files. Included are all title screens, code (both ML and main basic program),text files and tables.
- Fload installed for speedy loading of the image files, but also including a boot loader to fast-load the
main program even without a cartridge
- Crunched all text files to fit in memory while main game is running, are decrunched when needed,
no loading required, another speed boost!
- Changed the way sound on/off setting is saved (was hard-coded to be at track 35, sector 1), now to a
physical sound settings file on disk
- PAL-fix of the split screen when the player wins a round. Since Sunburst was a US company, they
only ensured flicker free screens for NTSC. Having the basic interpreter run while attempting the split
screen is not ideal... ;-)
- All in all, the game took up 321 blocks in the original, this G*P one takes up almost half less: 173
blocks, or 54% of original size, leaving almost 500 blocks free.
