Thank you for taking your time to write your well written apology, FADE. It's an understandable mistake and I'm glad you've considered to be mindful of your naming techniques for your future releases.

How about stop being "offended" about some song title? You wouldn't stand a chance reading the titles in some metal bands CDs, and they don't give a damn if you get all twisted reading them :D
What if I told you "I don't like your handle because it offends me. Change it".
You would probably reply "no, fuck you".
See the analogy? Come on.

"To everyone in the C64 scene:

My deepest apologies over my last tune, specifically regarding the cancer-related title. I failed to do proper research or consideration when choosing this title, thus didn't realize its gravity nor the connection to EVS until it was too late. I feel deeply ashamed now that I realize these things, but I'll make sure to be more careful with my titles from now on so such a mistake never happens again. What I did was extremely insensitive and has taught me a valuable lesson on how I should approach these things in the future. The connection was entirely unintentional, and the title was solely meant as something between an IRL friend of mine and me. I think from now on I’ll stick to a specific formula when titling tracks, at least on the SID.

Kind regards,
FΛDE/ONS."

@Hate Bush
Edwin van Santen, who was a member of 20CC and used the 20CC player for nearly all of his tunes, passed away from cancer. Given that, naming a tune with an insult related to cancer while also using the 20CC player can understandably come across as insensitive. (FADE, please address this. Even if it wasn’t intentional, it’s okay to acknowledge the mistake and clarify. Ignoring it will only make things look worse. )

why sensitive over this? why suggest, or even request a change?

(for example... two weeks ago a "Necrofucker" got released here. all of us have dead relatives and no one raised objections - and that's good i may add, that would be TOO sensitive. besides, i value freedom of speech in this part of the scene, even if it leads to statements i highly unlike.)

again, why?

@ Angel of Death I most likely did, fuck yeah, my words often get lost in translation, guilty as charged but please take it from a native dutch speaking person that this is really a misplaced title for a c64 release.

@Magic: It could be considered as condescending to assume that I haven't witnessed cancer from up close.
But you can take this to the forum because yes, there can be a discussion about this.

Angel: thats a bit of a shortsight.. many sceners have lost people of cancer.. u just simply dont name a production as it's named now.. imagine the youtube video being spread with this name on social media and youtube itself! sorry mate this is an absolute nobrainer.. u just have to see it to have the right insight on this

@Magic: In true Dutch fashion it doesn't matter what you say, it only depends on who is saying it and who it's directed towards.
@Matt: You probably never had the misfortune of accidentally using the wrong pronoun.

How curious cultures are... in Spanish if someone calls you "bastard cancer" as an insult, not only you'll laugh in their face, but also literally believe that person is an idiot who doesn't know how to insult... the worst thing you can do/say to a Spanish/Latino (i think also an italian) is to bring their mother into the discussion, like :"Hijo de Puta" :) ahahaha anyway i liked the tune!!
