Google-translate of the comment on Hungarian FB Newcomer page (from 2017):
"If you haven't heard of it yet, now we are trying to restore it to pc, since the ultimate c64 version of the original authors has been lost." | User Comment Submitted by zzarko on 12 September 2018
Pi1541 support for 1581 is nicely coming along, maybe d81 version of the game, if not SD2IEC? | User Comment Submitted by zzarko on 6 February 2018
Just tried to check FB page for the game, translation to English wasn't very good, but all I managed to see was talk about PC and Android versions (not run through Vice, if I understood correctly), C64 wasn't mentioned during 2017 (but maybe I missed the post).
Soooo, maybe converting this one to some loading system that supports more devices isn't a bad idea? Good 5.25" floppy discs are more and more hard to find, and not everyone has Ultimate 1541... (yes, I know I can play it in emulator) | User Comment Submitted by zzarko on 29 October 2016
@Jak T Rip: Thanks for the update on the game! | User Comment Submitted by Jak T Rip on 2 April 2016
Just to make that clear: Ultimate Newcomer is still in the making. Any PC version talk is independent of that, and the only "PC version" I know of is the C64 version bundled with Vice.
Ultimate Newcomer will be more compatible, for eyample to IDE64. | User Comment Submitted by zzarko on 11 January 2016
As Ultimate Newcomer for now isn't happening (last talks on FB page are about PC version), is it possible to make this version IDE64/SD2IEC/1581 compatible? I know that it uses custom 40-track disk format, and that it would require rewriting game's load/save system... (something I don't know even how to start looking) | User Comment Submitted by WinstonSmith6079 on 23 February 2014 User Comment Submitted by MacGyver on 17 May 2011
@ Macx: Well, actually the game has been long finished and we are only holding it back to tease you ;-)
Seriously, we are waiting for CID to deliver the Gold Master.
From Ultimate Newcomer Status:
Quote:Also, a Release Candidate version was built on the 1st of May, and testing has started for it.
@ FatFrost: I doubt it. First because of the amount of extra work, second I'm unsure if the game could be made fit into 1 MB.
@ all: To not spread UNC ideas over too many places, I suggest using the Ultimate Newcomer thread over at Lemon64 forums.
If you wanna be notified when UNC is available, please get in touch via the Protovision contact form, or subscribe to our newsletter at www.protovision-online.com. | User Comment Submitted by FATFrost on 17 May 2011

Isildur: Glad you are interested in our game. Some info for you and others with the same questions:
This is a story based game, not a combat-oriented one. There is fight in it, but there are no random encounters and combat action results (hits/misses and how much damage is caused by a hit) are 95% determined by weapons, attack mode, protective gear, Attributes and Skill levels.
-The fights we placed into the game are just part of a system of "valves" to control the flow of the story -- if you can't defeat some hostiles by any tactics and weapons at your disposal that means you did not reach the required progress level in the story yet. Everything is well tested and calibrated by now, we are working on the Ultimate revision of the game at the moment.
Give a try to the now-obsolete Enhanced version to get a taste of our game design. We hope the Ultimate version can revive interest in C64 gaming once again. \;]>

the credits of this release are completely messed up. god knows why PTV is even mentioned. also the onslaught/chromance release doesnt fit into this entry, it should get a seperate one. | User Comment Submitted by leonofsgr on 22 September 2006 User Comment Submitted by Jak T Rip on 19 April 2006
