As Kisiel already mentioned game was created from multiple sources - none of them was fully working at that time. Each of them had corrupted different data files. That's why I had to compile one working version from multiple sources.
On the last disk (2E) you can find:
- Game start program (ELVIRA 2++)
- Original game intro (ELVIRA 2 INTRO)
- Game integrity checker (ELVIRA 2 CHECKER). I was so fed up with corrupted data files, so I wrote this checker to make sure everything is in order and you can actually finish the game (I did that at least twice).
Other interesting things about this release:
- I was frustrated with constant juggling of floppy disks when playing the game, so I rearranged location of data files to minimize this behaviour. This is the reason the game starts from the last disk - I wanted to squeeze as many data files on the first floppy as possible. This is clearly visible at the very beginning of the came - feel free to compare it with other releases.
- Data files were compressed with Level-Crusher 1.0 as it was giving the best compression ratio at that time (more data files could be put on a single floppy which would mean less floppy juggling)
