The 'X' in the title stands both for '10' (Focus existed for 10 years when this was released) as well as the 'X-factor', that undefinable thing that makes something special. 'Rewinder' is, apart from the obvious meaning, also a link to the demo 'Xess Rewind' from 1986, one of the first demos I ever really liked, and containing a lot of small animations, not unlike those in the second screen of Rewinder X.

The texts of the 3 scrolls on the main screen seem to be identical but in fact are not ..

The pictures on the second screen represent the demos Visual Delight 1 (Keysystem), No.13 Baby (Mirage) and Visual Delight 2 (Die2: Compyx & X-Byte). To Sander & me these were the most important Focus demos released until then. No.13 Baby might seem a bit strange, but it is the only time we really dared to be different, until we released Rewinder X (and later Timewaster).

The graphics for those 'rewind animations' were not taken from the original demos but completely drawn by Sander instead.
