According to David Horrocks, the author of Hoxs64 emulator, the detection tests for the following in no particular order:

1) The VIC can be used to write to RAM location $0000 and $0001.
2) The sprite-sprite collision register detects collisions immediately.
3) Reading a SID write only register will read the last value that was written only for a short period after which the value fades to zero.
4) The NMI is negative edge triggered. Holding the NMI active does not cause interrupt after CLI is executed
5) Tests BA CPU delay timing.
6) Tests for cycle based operation of VIC memory pointers $D018.
7) Test for simple operation of sprite Y Expansion.
8) Test for VIC idle access to address $3FFF.

Emu-Fuxx0r v2 uses on-the-fly code generation. This makes it difficult to inspect the code.
