Mr. Mouse: long long story. it's not really 'school'.. I dunno how to explain really, don't have the right words for it, really... .. .

Knoeki, they let you run VICE at school? What class were you supposed to attend while you keyed in teh b4s!c c0de? Or did you do it during some computerclass (and why were they allowing it). Questions, questions.
When I was bored at school I'd usually just waste my time looking cool, chatting up chicks and smoke some. But that's me ;)

>if I can manage to even come close to a 1984 cracktro I'll be happy... .. .

that´s a good ambition, Knoeki. I am and I never have been a good coder (and I never will ;) ), but it´s never too late to learn ASM. try to realize in ASM the things you did in basic and you´ll see it´s funny! :-)

Dude, I enjoy your BASIC demos. But this isn't even the least bit impressive or releaseworthy for even a BASIC demo! Just by typing in the Commodore Ballon program from the manual (which almost everybody did!) you can have more than this, because the balloon actually flies diagnonally! 8)
Sorry, but I'll have to join the "better spend time learning ASM" camp, and feel inclined to add some "or do some pictures" and "or make proper BASIC demos"...

Knoeki, then don't waste your time with such crap, better read sth about asm when you're bored...

Vodka: exactly ;_)

Skate: I could have released something in ASM, just, I haven't done anything cool. I *will* release an ASM demo, but I'll do that when it's something watchable ;_)

I know I have had plenty time to learn, and I have tried to explain many times, but most people just call it bullshit excuses, so I'm not going to bother to write it down. that, and my hands are cold.

When I met Knoeki, I thought he had a good potential for becoming a real coder. He was 16 years old and trying to make $d012 effects using cbmbasic.

2 years have past. He's 18 now and I was expecting more from him.

C'mon Knoeki. If we all start making releases like this just because we are bored, think about the average release quality of our scene today.

Please focus on learning assembler.

Looks better than Halo3!!11
I'm looking forward to horizontal sprite test!

Edit: Apparently there is a hidden part in this little gem. To access it, break and type:
POKE 49152, 238: POKE 49153, 33: POKE 49154, 208
POKE 49155, 76: POKE 49156, 0: POKE 49157, 192: SYS 49152

Knoeki: Rambones is right. The disk image contains a "splat file", a file which has been improperly closed. You can "unsplat" it using a disk editor, since the file data is all right. If you're being adventurous, you can also try to type in this prog:

10 open15,8,15
20 open5,8,5,"#"
30 print#15,"u1: 5 0 18 1"
40 print#15,"b-p: 5 2"
50 print#5,chr$(128+2);
60 print#15,"u2: 5 0 18 1"
70 close 5
80 close 15

and then validating the disk using:

open15,8,15,"v0:":close 15

... or you could just re-save the file to another disk image.

I'm guessing it works for you because you auto-start the file using an emulator. Manually loading won't work unless your loader ignores the "splat" bit.

Having vice available means you could have done it in ASM.

Still, I don't think you're ruining your reputation at all.

[19:38:09] [@yago] you are ruining your reputation, knoeki

YES, I KNOW THIS IS A PIECE OF SHIT!

I just made it because..

A) I was bored,
B) I was playing around with sprites, and finally understand how they work.
C) I was bored.
D) so fucking bored.
