I see, just a typo then, I thought the dispute was the dec 1990 date.

Don't be so hostile Ian, chill.

"It was released in DEC 1990"
Nodody is questioning that, didi already wrote that in his first comment.
Which part of the wrong release date set in the scroller to 19 JANUARY 1990 are you not understanding?
The fact this was a recrack of a release made in dec 1990 only confirms this could be only made in jan 1991.

@Fungus: For this special game I know when the mag was released as I had it on mail order to get it a few days earlier, too. ;) But for this group I did not think they have the needed connections to Twice Effect or pay for a firstie. Today it is known that Jim Nowak was aka Tricom/AVT later.

Except the 1st releases were done in 1990, but you guys are unaware that sceners/groups were the ones paying developers to make the games and selling them to the magazines during that time. So, game sold to mag > release, before the magazine hit the stands. It was that way for years, and stuff was often supplied by the coder too (I got many 1st releases this way).

Note that I am not defending this trash group or this trash release, but check the other releases. It was released in DEC 1990, and may have been recracked then as well.

It's more likely they wrote 90 instead of 91 out of habit, it happens to EVERYONE in january to still write the previous year out of habit.
Also if the game was released at end of 90, a date 19.01.90 would have meant a ONE YEAR OLDER advanced copy, unlikely.
' i'm very drunken ' after the date explains many things =)

It's not wrong, it was leaked and released. Dates in intros are rarely wrong, check the charts. Also mail/swap versions... come on.

Release year in scroller must be wrong because the game was not available before end of 1990.
