According to google, the bbs mentioned in the 'intro' was ran under the name Mellinium 2000 only after the year 2000.
Before that, it had other names. (pink panther for instance) Also: the storage space seems to be slightly high for the year 1988 :)
Hence: releasedate is not 1988, but probably more like 2000 or 2001. As might be the case with all his other releases set in the 1980s..
