I really love the improvement and the new filters! Lightforce.sid was always not played 1:1 with the old Sidplay2/w now it plays it corect with the new filters.
Thank you! :)

It's all a matter of making a proper webpage and giving it a good title. The words in the title are used by Google as search terms. Just a download link on CSDb is not good enough.
My Mac version's site has a title containing the words: sidplay, c64, music, player, and mac
I'm on the first results page when people search for "c64 mac", I'm the first hit for "sidmusic", "c64 music mac" and the second hit for "sidplay".
All I did was follow the simple advice from a friend who runs a web 2.0 business. :)

I can't find this version on Google. Someone should really try to pimp this version on the net. The thought that most people out there are unknowingly listening to old, defect and inaccurate emulations of SID music makes my skin creep.

Most of my tracks are very filter-intense and they have never sounded right on a PC. This is the first time I gotta say, yes.. this is it. It's still not the original 6581, but it is getting close. Thank you so much Alankila/Inge, this really makes me happy before I go to sleep.

PS. Shame I didn't find this update earlier. I'll be updating my site with tons of sids (some lost ones too) shortly.

Is there any way to dump to wav from the commandline without using the gui?

iAN - I know. But wouldn't this be lovely if you can PRV/NEXT just tunes in the current folder without adding playlist everytime?. Anyway, nvm.

booker: Prev/Next are for playlist only, file/view/playlist, add some sids and then you can use those buttons.

Correction: changing SID model is possible but still you can't change the filtercurve.

Ie. you have tune for 8580, you can enforce to change to 6581 SID model, but in "Filter Distortion" menu you have only 8580 filter curves availabe to choose.

Mixer lets you disable channels and filter which is interesting when you'd like to have a look how ppl do some of their things with SID. Many C64 music drivers has this, so it's "original SID".

Aka. not essential, but nice-to-have-it. :)

Also PRV/NEXT buttons helps a lot when you listen to many sids :) (grayed out?)

The "mixer" function and the other "not original sid" settings is not needed.
The thing about Sidplayer is to get as near the sound on the c64 as possible.
(there is no "mixer" on the 64.)
But the Stereo funktion in the sidplayer is a good thing thou.
The stereo is making the sound better, the "adjusting" of mixer is not.

Hey, I like it coz old resid sux. But... SID model is tied up to the .sid info, so, if you'd like to listen to the tune with different model, (either coz .sid info is invalid or for other geek reasons) you can't.

Secondly, I'd be neat to change SID models on the fly.

And also... ah the mixer! What happened to the mixer? :)

It seems the trouble resides mostly with emulating the pulse-based combined waveforms where the pulse is in off state. I have reduced the problem now in svn upstreams, but the results still are not quite the same as any of SOASC's r2, r4 or r5.

@Laxity: It seems like Antti introduced some kind of emulation error in one of the later versions of the distortion hack (v32 or v33?). Newest VICE-build with resid-fp also plays it wrong.

@Tempest, why don't you ask Timbland where the mixer is as he knows how to use it.. (alledgedlly!) ;)

Am I just too stupid to figure it out or how do you active the Mixer? To me it is (or it WAS back in an earlier version) a pretty essential feature when making C64 covers.

And by the way, waveform samples (Fanta in Space) are working on this one too!
