Nice dithering technique and great to hear people talk about your work and too see it of course, in distance of time/space (since I, erhm, never participate parties) :D
The image feels somewhat caught by the typical 16 (teen) color dilemma: Clusters of shadows and depth in similar representation. Although you worked the dark towards black in the ends, the theme might have been helped by altering schemes for different figures (which you have started to do). Not just making it smooth-smooth in a traditional way.
I do have to agree with Irwin: Keep to superb Crest or do it in plain bitmap/F.L.I. ;P Or let us all blaim the emulator...

I am aware of the circumstances Leon made this picture under. Unfortunately it had to be rushed with no time left for adding detail to the background.
-In years of following Leon's releases, this is the first time I see a clear sign of improvement in Leon as a graphician, something different than his usual copy-texture-dither technique -- he drawn the fleeing figure without using any reference, and actually I find that figure the best in this picture. I wish he keeps on advancing in actual character drawing and composition skills, so we can see truly strong and high quality no copy graphics from him in 1-2 years.

what carrion sais. whereas the creature in the movie infact has nearly no muscles at all, more like lappets directly on the skeleton. harder contrast might have been useful... overall your pic catches the bizarre and dark atmosphere very well.

If there was a thumbs up bb-code on here you'd get a lot.
One of my favourite movies of all time. Pic captures the atmosphere beautifully without being a copy of a frame in the movie. (I'm pretty sure this particular shot isn't in the movie)
btw.
I thought they were Franco adepts and not yet nazi colaborators in the movie. (Franco became pro-nazi and was a nasty dictator anyway...)

I remember this monster from the movie The Labirinth of the Fauno, nice one!

This picture brought out a really bad feeling in me, and he has eyes in his handpalms which is really really scary. Nice technique.

Quite interesting, nice to see something different from Leon. I love the atmosphere, but a bit less the technique this time.

Anyway, since some of you brought it up, just to make it clear: no, those are definitely not Nazis. Shame on you for not paying attention in your history class! :)
Nazism is the German interpretation of fascism, whilst the movie features Falangists. Falangism is the political movement centered around the Spanish adoption of the same idea Nazism was founded on. Both are directly deprived from Benito Mussolini's Doctrine of Fascism, but quite different in means of geopolitics.

@Deev: the story is set to 1944, that's 5 years after the civil war.

And indeed, I must second that the "nazi" line in the movie was unnecessary and a bit far-fetched, a boring common cliche when one has to represent very very bad guys.

Nice place to take inspiration. It's a while since I saw the film, but I remember that monster being really creepy! The giant frog was my favourite :) Also, wasn't the film set during the Spanish Civil War? I'm not sure the soldiers are supposed to be nazis (though as I say, it's been a few years since I saw it).

Without the Nazis, the movie would not be possible. Great picture btw ;)
