Shot Away’92/WEC

Created 1992
SEUCK/Sensible Software [1987]

Released 1992

Shot Away’92 is an update of Shot Away (Released 1990). Updates included Music by Rob Hubbard, from the games Knuckle Busters/Melbourne House [1986] and Sanxion/Thalamus [1986], along with some graphical alterations.

Bored by the limitation of SEUCK only being able to scroll downwards, and wanting the screen to scroll left to right (horizontal) inspired the idea of designing everything with the screen rotated 90°, a technique some Arcade games adopted. I just love the work of Swiss surrealist painter, sculptor, set designer, HR Giger. While nothing was copied, graphically everything that appears during Shot Away’92 was some how inspired by everything I had seen by HR Giger.
