The Liseberg rabbit was made mostly by Poison during our Judas meeting in Helsingborg two weeks ago. Made in digi-paint 3.0, the suckass program we in Judas prefer, not because it's good but because it forces you to use the keyboard more, find special characters and combinations and use them in your own ways. Digi-paint 3.0 is mostly in compiled basic, it's slow and you will be amazed when it saves a 7 block .seq file and it takes a minute or so, but damn it has a good feeling. You sort of get into the flow. Another petscii editor worth mentioning is Phatart by CMP, with macX mode and animation possibilities. Then there is the good old Kaleidoscope, which records your keystrokes (like in mid 80's letterwriters) but saves it like a big .seq file you can throw into a post on a bbs like Antidote and freak Taper out. | User Comment Submitted by Cresh on 8 February 2010 User Comment Submitted by Frantic on 8 February 2010
@Archmage:
Digipaint - Used by Jucke/Dino:
Digital Paint V3.0
Boardpainter - the one I prefer:
TBoard-Painter V1.1 Pro
Tyronpaint - another one:
Tyronpaint V2.1
You can also make PETSCII stuff in CGTerm (by Magervalp) on Mac/PC if you turn "echo" on, and save the screen as a .seq file, if you know the keys by heart. In fact, this is probably what I do most often, since I tend to do a petscii piece when I need a pause from work, and then I don't have a C64 within reach. :) | User Comment Submitted by Archmage on 8 February 2010
Neat. What sort of editor is used for this btw? | User Comment Submitted by Frantic on 8 February 2010
For the non swedes... Liseberg is an amusement park in Gothenburg/Sweden (which is the city where DATASTORM took place) and they have this rabbit as their logo, although the "real" version of the rabbit looks more like a fresh vitamin pill than the great stoned lurker presented here.

Really great work. Petscii/bbs graphics are tricky at the best of times, this is simply superb! The best so far! | User Comment Submitted by Sander on 8 February 2010 User Comment Submitted by The Shadow on 8 February 2010 User Comment Submitted by Twoflower on 7 February 2010 User Comment Submitted by MagerValp on 7 February 2010
I think this is my favorite petscii piece so far. Awesome on so many levels. The black eye, the smug look, the great use of characters, everything just works together. |
