Pretty impressed with the Invade-A-Load which The Mad Scientist added to this game. If this was originally a Mastertronic release back in the late 80's the game would have probably used this loader - or possibly the Virgin loader. He even managed to master one with Novaload as well. ;) | User Comment Submitted by Th3_MAD_Sc1ent1st! on 30 November 2010
Ian Coog, don't worry. I asked Richard's permission for adding this version to his page, which he kindly granted.
This is not my game, and I never make additions to any people's pages without their permission. :) Maybe I should have made it more clear that I got Richard's approval. Sorry!
Well, I'm now making it clear then: This Invade-a-Load version of BGR was added to this page with kind permission from Richard Bayliss, the author of this game. | User Comment Submitted by iAN CooG on 30 November 2010
@the mad scientist: hmm... apart that you don't have enough loading time to complete even one attack wave, so this new tap is completely useless for others (of course you did it for your own pleasure to understand how to do it), was this new tap version discussed/approved by Richard? Because this is the entry for his own version, adding your version here would be wrong otherwise. New version, new entry. | User Comment Submitted by Th3_MAD_Sc1ent1st! on 30 November 2010
Hello guys! I have mastered this game with the classic Invade-a-Load loader. I did it for fun, when I found out how the Freeload loader works.
I must thank the legendary Richard Aplin for creating this cool loader in 1987. Thanks also to Rob Hubbard for his One Man & His Droid tune that was used in Invade-a-Load.
Hope you have a nice trip down memory lane! :) Enjoy! | User Comment Submitted by Richard on 29 August 2010
Just to let you know that because of the dying bug (where collision was still on) and the player could still clobber the people, when in death sequence. I have altered the code, so that it will not happen. I have updated the .zip file of Bionik Granny Returns. You can find it from the usual link. :) | User Comment Submitted by TheRyk on 27 August 2010
Didn't even know the original game until I checked it a few minutes ago. Result: really the usual unplayable Mastertronic trash - even if you consider that it is from 1984. Yuck!
But "granny's return" is really cute fun! Also like the title GFX and music, especially what you did with the original ingame melody. First I thougt the game was fare too easy, but having played a few levels I think the difficulty's quite well balanced - easy at the beginning and then rising level by level.
Yay! Beat the shit out of them youngsters, granny! | User Comment Submitted by iAN CooG on 23 August 2010
3 hidden files actually :P | User Comment Submitted by Richard on 22 August 2010
@Terric ... Those hidden parts are a surprise. Try searching around the disk for them and you'll find those there :) | User Comment Submitted by Skate on 22 August 2010
nice game. I liked how you store counters on screen. you don't need to search for the address where coins' counter is stored. just change the value at $0427 :) | User Comment Submitted by Wile Coyote on 22 August 2010
A new platform game would be good. | User Comment Submitted by d0c on 22 August 2010
