Literature.

For what I've understood looking at the dates back at C64pixels.com, much of JHM's images are dated at the early 90:ies.
What are most outstanding of the pieces are the unconventional methods of getting things done.
Part from the ordinary chessboards, this one is so much more rich technically.

Without the technical view, they seem to return to a photographic aesthetics put aside any given time they where
made. The only emblematic sign of (late) post-modernism in this piece would be the treatment of the paper
(the electronic sheet or if one wants: Gabriel’s golden folded cloth) as being torn or curved.

Realism has come and gone several times throughout art history in different degree: Sheeler, Hopper, Hockney, Close, Neue Sachlichkeit, Richter, Tuymans etc
(mentioning only a fraction of artists around 1900-2000).

Very special indeed.

Thank you Motion and Cba for sharing.

Moloch: No. No idea what so ever what gets deleted here. Only voted for around 10% of the database and have not yet gone through all material. Lots of duplicates, sure, but deleting unique releases another thing. :)

Would be cool if you could bring the file!

"Perhaps a quarantine function would be better, followed by a fruitful discussion?"

I think based on this you don't realize how much is actually deleted. I routinely delete 5-10 entries per week from various categories ... most because of duplicates or non-scene releases. Also, "fruitful discussion" ... gotta laugh here. ;) pigs fly and bigfoot is real, etc.

I probably have this file.

Groepaz: I agree. I for one also think missing links and even less information is a bummer, especially when it comes to such beautiful art as this one. However it is a good attempt as any of shedding new light on JHMs wonderful art.

However when it comes to deleting stuff in general, I am not so sure what qualifies as criteria. Perhaps a quarantine function would be better, followed by a fruitful discussion?

Following in on recent events a pretty shitty deal just deleting stuff straight up and down, if you'd ask me. But I guess as always it is based on context. I for one never asked for my material to be here, and when I once started uploading stuff, I got shit from that as well. Nowadays a cool, almost to the point of cynical approach seem best...

@ed: i am not saying its not a valid entry (in that case i would simply delete it) - i just dont like entries with screenshots but no file =)

Totally agree. It has some weird black spots and even the colors seem almost too amazing to be true.

yeah, fair play, if its being searched for even passively, then its better to have a screenshot to jog someones memory than a vague description. this one is artifacted very badly. piecing this one back together i think is a none starter. the other one motion uploaded (swans), i have been able to "restore" somewhat. i will have a further look at this later to refine it.

Ahem:

CSDb (the Commodore 64 Scene Database) is an attempt to gather information about the Commodore 64 (C64) scene throughout time and store it in an easily accessible and heavily cross referenced database.
Here you can find information about the sceners, groups, releases (demos, intros, tools etc.) and events (parties) that have a connection to the C64 scene.

I for one think this release qualifies.

Of course it would be good to have the original file, and hopefully we will find it eventually. I wonder. Are there any possible color bugs or is this possibly as close to the original as we can get?

i cant help myself, but somehow i dont like the idea of making entries for files that only exist in form of a bad screenshot =) blackmail whoever made it i say!

Does anyone have the original file in its native format?
