This was an image base on a reference photo of a lion. Drawn on paper and coloured in PhotoShop. I did a 2-screen pixel version that does not really work on C64 at all. Part of the image was later released at X after Deekay bug-fixed it (thanks once again!). I suppose I had hopes this could’ve been used in a demo as scrolled but the idea was buried along dozens of others.

The new version looks much better, well worth investing the time to fix those bugs!

After the complaints, i spent some extra 10 hours of bugfixing and antialiasing on this and also added the new PAL/NTSC displayer! I can't get it any better, sorry. But apparently this is as good as it gets, it seems it b0rks heavily in Drazlace, too. Electric writes:

big thanks for doing it. this pic was made actually for 2006 assembly, but we never managed to fix it for drazlace even. it's pixeled with photoshop.

Very special, but auch for the colorclashes,
in drazlace it works almost flawless 1:1 but then again one has the issue of interlaced graphics.

My number 1 in the compo. Very different.

Coloured in outline, made worse by NUFLI limitations.
I think Electric is great, although Tiger isn’t my sort of thing.

Very nice and original style, and I appreciate it a lot more now than I did during the competition. A small thing that bugs me with this picture is that the choice of colours and the placement of the eyes seem to imply that the leftmost part of the picture is closer to the camera than the right, which, judging from the perspective used is obviously not the case. But that might be just me. :)

Absolutelly, tottally and uberally stunning artwork.

First time I saw it my mind couldn't comprehend with these layers and I saw only colour spread around. Then the picture begun to emerge, taking the shape.

Never seen either such a technique, nor its usage, nor the effect it had on me.

Tell me it's a copy and I commit suicide :)

I always loved Electric's work but this one is just bloody eyergasm! So glad it wasn't released 10 years ago, coz I would have no chance to appreciate it.

VEry cool. I love seeing new creative ways to face C64 graphics being shown around, people getting back into the scene and new ones entering too :)

Creatively this tops everything in the graphics compo (easily). Eventhough I think this picture is atleast 10 years old (?), it's Electric! Still secretly wish for him to return.

Great! Though, this looks less flawed than it did in the compo...

Absolutely stunning. My clear #1 from the X2010 batch. Very original, both in motive and execution. Some more time could have been spent on fixing the details on the resulting NUFLI-pic, though.
