Gah, what is the name of the game/song on which Fanta's tune is based? Can't recall the name but I love it! =)

@MacGyver: Hard to judge from here without the possibility to test around on the crashing hardware.
@Ian Coog: Damn, you got me. We thought about releasing this together with an extremely small game (Something like a 2 KB Pong Clone). ;O)

@Axis: I recently took the time to test this on some other maschines. Results: Works on another C64 G and an old C64. Crashes on a C128D metal (and my "main" C64 G mentioned earlier). 2:2, all in all. Is it a VIC issue, or rather with the RAMs? | User Comment Submitted by iAN CooG on 27 March 2011
very nice demo. no, this isn't properly a crack intro, 62kb fully used, can't be actually linked to anything ;) | User Comment Submitted by Low Spirit on 6 March 2011
fine production :)
but the thing, that i have the original music in mind and can't get the name, gives me a headache. coz i'm 100% sure, that fanta just changed the lead... and the rest is a "guttenberg" :D | User Comment Submitted by MacGyver on 2 March 2011
Axis: Okay, the special kind of VSP might be the reason.
Thanks for the decrunch fix. As expected, it fixes the decrunch issue, while the intro still crashes after a while - again, tested with a C64G. | User Comment Submitted by Axis/Oxyron on 2 March 2011
@MacGyver: Sounds strange. I tested it on a c64 and a c128d without any problems. Also Graham tested on multiple systems with only 1 crash, which i guess was due to the vsp-problem. The only critical part in the code I see is the vsp, the rest is fairly clean and simple. Perhaps its due to the fact, that this intro uses multiple vsp´s every frame, which is rarely used in other demos/intros.
For everyone having problems with long waits on the decrunchline, test the decrunchfix executable. I dont know if it works, because the problem doesnt occur on my hardware. But I found a potential bug in the code. | User Comment Submitted by Stone on 1 March 2011 User Comment Submitted by MacGyver on 28 February 2011
Well, I saw the goof notes, but 1) that doesn't explain why the decrunch (?) line stays for really ages. And 2) I never had any VSP issues with this C64 before, so it would suprise me if that was the reason. I guess the reason for the problems lie somewhere else. | User Comment Submitted by Yazoo on 28 February 2011
@MacGyver: yeah :( plz read the "goofs" - you have a non-vsp stable c64 i guess
| User Comment Submitted by MacGyver on 28 February 2011
Has anyone successfully tried this on the real thing? My result (with C64G and 1541U-I): Keeps ages on the decrunch screen, runs normally for a while, then crashes. Works nice on VICE 2.3 (normal and sc).
Otherwise, also my favorite one from the compo entries. | User Comment Submitted by daison on 28 February 2011

Very nice!! I love the flipping logo effect and colour-splits in the text! | User Comment Submitted by Sir Garbagetruck on 26 February 2011
I like the splits, and I have to work on my sprite multiplexer cuz I can't figure out how you did that (I know, I just said I have to work on it (: ) effing excellent thing really. | User Comment Submitted by Moloch on 26 February 2011
Feels a bit "clean" to me, but good overall. |
