This is gorgeous; lovely melody, structure and soundscape. Definite frontrunner for me, happy to have this one on repeat, much as the arc from start to end is perfect. Seamless mix of samples and more native sounds too.

And yes, lovely pixels from Joe as always.

Very enjoyable composition where nonstandard time signature feels very natural, not a gimmick. Beautiful melodies oozing of real musical talent, and top notch sounds!

Killer beginning, "generic" middle-part, killer second-part (~1:30). And I like it that way, with all its ups and downs.

@Mibri Aha, I keep learning things, I didn't know samples took that much CPU!

@rupy: Hey thanks. Well, with the tool I'm using to play sample-based sounds through the SID's third channel, I didn't have enough rastertime to have three digi voices (with full pitch and volume support) with the screen enabled at the same time. It worked OK when supporting only two digi voices, but trying to squeeze the sampled elements into two voices compromised the tune too much, so I opted for a fuller sound over the screen being on - this is a C64 Music release, after all. I think I'll try to compose something with two digi voices in mind from the outset next time I use the tool though, so I should be able to have graphics visible while the music plays then. :)

Nice, too bad we are not allowed to look at the picture and listen to the music at the same time!?

Very very nice all round.

It's a lovely little release - Joe should release the pic separately as well, though.. this entry is rightly in the music category - but many of the comments are about the (excellent) picture rather than the equally awesome tune.

Great work, Mibri! (and Joe)

Thank you all for listening and for the kind words. I'm very grateful to Joe and Dr. Science for making this release happen for me! I'm quite satisfied with how this tune came out, though I hope for a future where I won't feel inclined to compose too many more like it.
