This worked surprisingly well for an atari converted Speedlink USB Competition Pro with the original nasty cheap switches. Resistances were all under 2 ohm and the stick was very reliable afterwards. It'll be interesting to see how long before those low quality switches get tarnished again.

Really useful device. Just fixed a Competition Pro firebutton with it. Looking forward to offer "repair service" at Zoo 2024. Bring your joysticks and let's see if it will work for you as well.

Great if this really works, @GI-Joe! :) But the ZIP file is empty?!

@chatGPZ: yes, indeed. 90% of "reanimated" Joysticks works after the procedure. And the measurement results after reanimation speak for themselves! I have choosen 5V because I didn't want to use more voltage than necessary in any autofire circuits to avoid any destruction of them. The capacitance of the capacitor is crucial so that there is neither too much nor too little current. Had to test for a long time, but with this current size it works great!

Crazy, but cool idea :)

Does this really have an effect with such low voltage? (I have only seen this with significantly higher voltages)
