This is Technic Warrior of Viper speaking here.... See that three-dimensional rotating, bouncing "V" I remember x-actly how i made this.
I had a porgram called giga-cad 3, and made in hours of work a 360° rotating "V"
The calcuclatingtime with the c64 was many hours...
after i had several high-resolution pictures, i made different charsets. Those are always selected when the raster of the screen is on the last line. After selecting charset will be painted some characters on the screen that gives in combination with the charset the next picture... That happens all, bevore the raster-ray of the monitor begins on the first line to draw again... So if i flip all charsets trough, i get a 360° rotating V
But why does it bounce and why jumps it right and left?
That´s because the time that the monitor-ray uses to switch from the last screen-line to the first screen-line is also used for justaging the screen one pixel left... (for 7 bits) after that the complete charset has to be painted on the screen one charakter more left, and screen-justaging-bit has to moved right...
And the jumping is only a kind of sinus-function that generates some time-delay bevore the ray on the screen begins to paint.. so it looks as if screen moves down and up... Well, i can remember good all the time, and i had much fun working on this.. And i am very happy to find this demo here again. I thought it was lost for ever.... And the most incredible for me was to hear that digitalized voice between the demoparts.. because that was ME !! Yes, i digitalized it with my old datasette... It´s unbelievable what extremely advance all those technic made in the last years.... Well i love it, and i love those good old times..
And many thanx also to Mr. Warp.. I think he was one of the most intelligent people i know in this former time......
